Quality Without Compromise
In a world dominated by cheap, disposable, mass-produced crap, finding high-quality goods that are built to last can be like finding an oasis in a desert.
We get it - we value good craftsmanship too. That's why we don't skimp on materials. Every piece of jewelry that we make contains at least 90% silver, and our rings are crafted from coins with the clearest details possible. As our passion grew from hobby to business, so did our fluency in the metals that make up the coins we use. One thing quickly became clear: 90% purity is the minimum acceptable standard.
So why 90% silver? First, practicality. Before 1965, silver coinage in the US was struck in a 90/10 silver-copper alloy - built for circulation and durability. The State and National Park quarters were minted decades later, but we use special proof editions struck in that same 90% silver alloy. Across the pond until 1919, British coinage was made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper - better known as sterling silver.
Could we use 99.9% silver? Maybe one day, but pure silver is (relatively) a very soft metal by itself. It needs to be alloyed with another metal like copper to give it enough strength to handle life's wear and tear. But, people do make jewelry out of 99.9% pure silver, and we're just getting started, so stay tuned...
The second reason is that we care about your well-being. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, over 18% of people in North America have a nickel allergy - that's almost 1 in 5 people. We want your ring to be a source of joy - not irritation.
Well-crafted jewelry made from high-quality materials that prioritizes your well-being. That's quality without compromise.
